Modern split systems use R32 — a mildly flammable refrigerant that requires specific certification to handle. Many installers advertise services they're not legally qualified to perform.
UK law requires this certification for anyone handling, installing, or commissioning systems containing fluorinated refrigerants. We hold Category 1 — the highest level, covering all system sizes.
R32 is now the standard refrigerant in virtually every new split system. This qualification covers safe handling, installation and commissioning procedures specific to flammable refrigerants — legally required for any engineer working with modern systems.
